I finished my Converging Corners quilt.
It started back in March, when I submitted this block lottery idea to my guild – the Vancouver MQG. I loved the bright colors with the solid white background. I made sample blocks to show my guild – I just had to make 4 of them so I could see the effect of the converging corners. At the April meeting, several members brought blocks – there were a total of 22 blocks. We held the block lottery, and I won!
I only used 16 of the blocks because I wanted a square quilt. (I gave the extra 6 blocks to one of my fellow guild members, because she had made 8 blocks for the lottery!) When I pieced the blocks together, I decided to insert skinny black strips at each corner, and I really think it ties all the blocks together. As I explained in this post, I had originally planned to bind it with black, but decided instead on a 1/4 inch black border with scrappy colorful 3/8 inch binding. I’m very happy with how it looks.
